What would you do with the offering?

If just one time you could not fail;
Would you sail the world? Save a whale?
Take up oil painting or dabble in pottery?
Win the Derby or maybe the lottery?

Would you cure cancer, or fly your own jet?
Or just start walking to see where you’d get?
Would you have a big office, or live in a tent?
If you could would you choose to be a lady or gent?

Would you live in pajamas and sleep until ten?
Or never have need to sleep again!
Would you live on a mountain? Or under the sea!
Would you open the jails and set everyone free?

Would you rather be smart than handsome or pretty?
Prefer solitude or be chatty and witty?
Would you prefer to be single or wed?
If you couldn’t fail, who would sleep in your bed?

Would you live in the future? Or back in the past?
Take life at leisure, or live it real fast?

Be center stage? Or stay on the side?
Easily tell the truth from the lie?

Would you rather be loved, or be the lover?
Be the book or be the cover?

Singer or dancer? Respected or feared?
See the future before it neared?
Have wings to fly? Or breathe underwater?
The Nobel Prize, or the love of your daughter?

What if you fell flat on your face?
In front of the world became a disgrace?
What would you want them to say when you died?
That you never failed?

or you never tried! [comments] => 4 [counter] => 104 [topic] => 14 [informant] => softerware [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DreamsandWishes )

Many deep philosophical questions but yeah, I would not want that I never failed to be my epitaph. However, if given that one day offering, I'd definitely cure cancer if that was one of my choices.

Thank you for stirring up the brain juices.

Very beautiful and thought provoking beep questions. However if I could choose. I would want to be what God intended me to be. We can only strive to follow Jesus example. Grate write blessings

Greetings
Rus

Whoa! Whoa! - far too many questions to consider for a mere mortal who has thrived and failed in equal measure!
If I couldn't fail then I can only surmise that I would be a different person leading a different life.

I like the way you've put all these questions together, and their rhythmic structure. Well scribed, my friend.

Great poem! The title sells it...
It's the same thing over and over
but were only getting older and older
so were told get a job that safe,
cause dreams are too fake for us to chase
this is my life if that's the case
can't I decide to design my fate?
I suggest listening to this song
Asher Roth - "Nothing You Can't Do"
