I know the missing chinks in the family chain.
I remember seven the perfect number of years
It took for my heart to belong to me again, with a
Rhythm of acceptance of never again to be entirely
Familiar.
As with first love, the resonating bewilderment of friendship
Putting on its hat and coat to walk out of the door,
Still digs the next furrowed brow.
Although my last parting of ways was cushioned by mutual
Grace,I suppose it's my boxing up of a willingness to accept change
As I fend off myself who turns in readiness to apportion blame with
The next accurate punch to my esteem.
This time my feet did the walking but only after being pushed.
Is it life walking away?
Is it the defining of chapters that will make my life legible?
The occasional page a single exclamation mark shouting the
Change of genre as everyone has walked away!
The world need not scare me for I do that.
And just when walking away has become apocalyptic,
I return to quieter waters and
Sigh. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 145 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Northernlights [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Perhaps a question for a philosopher for I am not sure.

Maybe the total sum of all these questions is letting go .

Definitely food for thought. Life surely can be perplexing and frustrating.

Writing can be good therapy and I hoped this helped you. I know intense emotion was conveyed to this reader. Poetry in action.

Take care,

Tim

Hi Anna,
Walking away will sometimes make life more
bearable than quiet acceptance of the unbearable.
These are the lessons we learn - this is the colour
of life.

Honest emotion, honestly writ.
