on the other side of nothing?

When the wind moans

and the Doves call

rain streams,mind screams.

Ashes blown away

in Spring whispers

and then there is nothing

just ache and pain

and memories tap you on the shoulder

and jolt you to realize

you packed it away,

only for it to rise again

with a mighty roar

a dragon breathing fire.

In the center of it all

breath in, breath out

one foot in front of the other

looking around

and it is surreal

and sad where you stand

feet cemented in the ground

the trumpets blow

the flag waves,folded proper

and placed where it should go.

Then there was nothing

nothing at all but the wind.
