Array ( [sid] => 178419 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The game of living [time] => 2014-05-29 17:10:44 [hometext] => This was made when my mother passed away. Someone told me to my face, that I didnt look sad at my mothers passing. That hurt me deeply. This poem is filled with my emotion. Its been already a year since then. Well, hope you like it... [bodytext] =>
I look to grieve,

but I am pulled

Into the cycle of disillusionment.

I look to others to tell my story

I look to others to tell my pain.

All I can do is play.

All I can do is stay sane

I want so baldly to stop the game

Want to let go and scream out the shame

Why does it hurt. I want to know

Why does death strike a chord.

I want to remain silent so I can continue to live

Normal like all the human rest

Heart numb, feelings clouded

Soul shaken,

and hands unsteady

Smile a ruse,

laughter a miracle

Want to stop feeling so Damned cynical.

You rest in peace, while I feel near death

Always the living to feel the bad

Dead ones gone, feeling no more

While I'm hurting and wondering and crying once more  .  .  . oh sweetie! i'm so sorry for your loss! from your note:
people say all kinds of dumb things when someone
dies, and there is no 'right' way to grieve, it is different
for everyone, ~feelings aren't right or wrong facts are,
you have taken your pain and penned a truly beautiful
poem!

big hugs n' love nessa

Nobody should dictate your emotions or actions, we all deal with life and it's traumas and trouble in our own way.
The one who truly knows you, is that not you yourself?
What does it matter what everyone else thinks?

I liked this, and no...NO ONE can tell you how to grieve. i lost my mom about 10 yrs ago, and i can still feel an emptiness with in, yet it took me awhile to really have the emotions, others did instantly....Grieve how you need to , be through writes, or cries.

The dead do not grieve, only the living. Grief is internal and very personal, not to be dictated in its appearance by tactless fools. You express your inner feeling so well here. Perhaps you should shiow this poem to the person who said you didn't look sad enough.
