A dip into hell-
That's where I went-
hot as fire all 'round, of sweat and torment,
careening to howls
(only mine I might add)
as others in hell right next to me
swung shovel and pick in silence
so grim...
this hell? A curious place I find myself in.

I discovered hell's not below,
no brimstone to dodge; Satan absent,
no whips with glass tips,
no ripping of flesh...no, this hell had none of it.

This hellish spot of I speak, on earth in a ditch
needing new conduit running through it-
my minions in labor, quite uncomplaining
eternity for them an eight hour day-
for me though at least, begging for rest
praying this one hellish day to be over and back at my desk. I enjoyed your poem, Invierno. Thank you.

Tickled me pink with delight, your revelation!
We should all have to trade places once in a while as your work suggests to appreciate what is our lot in life. This one day--would make us happier to be who we are, where we are, with what we have!
Why is it we always look to those who have more, and never behind you seem to ask…and it is a good question you pose to all who read this!
