With a chill in the air
Feeling as if I would choke
For my heart was not there

The cold embraced me
My eyes were useless
They could truly not see
Why did life have to be so ruthless

This was only the beginning of my heart wrenching tale
So please refrain yourself from being so frail

My world collapsed
No one to tell
I cannot survive
This god forsaken hell

Fear flowed through my vains
Insanity at the brink
Rapid thoughts in my brain
No time to think

You are still here?
You are taking this very well
It is only fair
That you do not dwell

I curled into my bed
So dark and alone
Wishing that I were dead
A boy without a home

As I cry and weep
Outside my door
An ungodly shreek
I could only deplore

I silently wait
My body paralyzed by fear
Trying to negate
These uncontrollable tears

There walked a boy
Wearing a ski mask
Holding a knife like a toy
In the darkness
He basks

The boy puts down the knife
Reaching for his face
He takes off the mask
If only my mind could erase

The pain everlasting
I was staring at me
A knife I grasped
How could this be?

Fear turned to hate
As the darkness surrounded
It was too late
My wings were grounded

This was a nightmare I had as a kid
Being 8 years old
This is a memory I can never rid
And something that I never told

I woke up in sweats
My mind torn apart
What kind of monster would you be
If you were born without a heart?

love how well you've woven your words, it comes around full
circle, the ending a bit of a shock- tho you are you and not the
nightmare version of self; for you have a heart and it shines
here, in this beautifully penned piece,

hugs n' love nessa

Very powerful and explicit writing, carry on beautifully...
