Today I heard the Trumpet Blow

Reminded me of a day long ago

When off to War I had to go

Far away from this land of snow

It was blustery on this day today

Just like that day so far away

I knew I would have to go

Just as I did so long ago

Duty calls and soldiers like me

Answer the call as ever you see

Now I must go and do my Duty

That of a Soldier and forever will be

Now, once more, I hear the Bugles sound

The sound that reminds me of duty bound

I am an old Soldier but still must fight

for we all answer the politicians plight

So many of our Soldiers disabled and wounded

Calls for the likes of me and my brothers banded

So many young Soldiers already wounded and maimed

Just way too many of our Nations best to be named

My heart cries out to them, "Thank you Dear Brother!"

Without you we will have to fight, one way or another

There will be no choice when all of you are gone

The rest of us will still have to fight and go on

Yes, I heard that sound of the Bugle today

I know that it is the War song it does play

For if our Politicians continue to get their way

All of us will end up in the next fight any day

For the Politicians themselves do not fight

Heck! They declare War, wrong or right

Their pockets never get filled enough

Which for the rest of us makes it tough

They sit at the top of every heap

Blood money is theirs to keep

Our young men go to war and die

Leaving us who love them to cry

Well I am getting fighting mad

I will fight for my real enemy is bad

They are most of our Politicians in DC

Who do not give a hoot for you are me

Now I heard that Old Trumpet sound

It blasts near me and all around

Only a few Politicians who do care

Very few, not enough to make aware

That our Nation is fighting to stay alive

Ted Cruz, the Paul's, some others do strive

To maintain the Constitution and Bill of Rights

However, most people care for Presidential delights

Now I do tell you if we do not change all this

Off to War, which means for some a final kiss

Another War to fight for our Politicians delight

Please wake up people as we go off to fight

This will be our final Curtain Call

The President has made sure of it all

He and his are bound to see it through

To replace this Country and even you!

The Final Trumpet Call of America!

Today I heard the Trumpet Blow

Reminded me of a day long ago

Far away from this land of snow

It was blustery on this day today

Just like that day so far away

So many young Soldiers already wounded and maimed

Just way too many of our Nations best to be named
