Little seedling, more or less.

Can’t sit up, or stand or walk;
Try to speak, but only squawk!

Little changelings-- hearing, seeing;
Human is the art of being!

Learn to balance, take a chance;
One step two steps—then we dance!

Walking, jumping, climbing, smiling!
Smarter, faster, now we’re styling!

Feed the fire with endless learning;
Tiny spark so brightly burning!

“We are different!” we proclaim!
(Yet all the “differents” look the same)!

Now we speak instead of asking;
Measure worth by multi-tasking.

Cramming lessons in our attic;
Wake, work, sleep – on automatic!

One-way speak our mode of choice;
So in love with our own voice!

Running just to stay in place;
Join the grown-up human race!

Missing life to make a living.
Tiny loved ones are forgiving.

Little changelings watch us grow;
Were we they not long ago?

All that stayed the same was change!
Day by day we re-arrange!

From life’s beckoning come hither;
Til our tangled branches wither;

We will bloom and shed and grow;
Leaving petals in the snow.

From the cradle to the casket
many gifts will fill our basket;

Not the least of which is love;
Which this wish to us is of;

May we always find our way;
Before the sunlight fades each day;

May seasons be our heart’s allure;
And winding roads our signature!

This is so uplifting with a positive message throughout. I like how you wrapped it up with those final two stanzas. Very nice.
