I'm so not loving more grief periods,
those fleeting moments of pain
brushing tragic across my heart.
Tears that sting,then evaporate again
only to come once more.

We were a complicated combination you and I.
Now it is over, I always try to keep those good moments
close to the surface of my heart and thoughts.

Dragon flies and Monarch butterflys
tagging my every movement these past few months.
Landing on the chair where I sit
sending a shiver along my skin
whispering in the summer winds
and I just seem to know.....

You would never come for a visit
instead you would always say,
when Im dead and buried
I'll fly by sometimes.
Then with that very thought
again the big yellow butterfly appears
resting in the flowers
wings fluttering soft
sitting near me.
A shiver again, though the sun is hot
a smile, and two tears sliding down each cheek.

Hi dad, nice to see you again,
