Numbering year Fifty-Nine since my birth

Through it I've had times of trials, tribulations
But more have been spent in joyous jubilations

My hair continues to fade to a snowy white
And more wrinkles are appearing in my sight

As most know my birthdays I prefer to ignore
As each pull me closer to exiting time's door

But today I'd like to sing you my birthday song
And hopefully some will care to dance along

May life give you wondrous loves beyond compare
May time tell you hopeful stories you must share
May your heart brace you against evils' dark stone
May your soul's mirror reveal you're never alone

In each day plans are given for our life's duty
In time's arms we're shown our future's beauty [comments] => 6 [counter] => 298 [topic] => 10 [informant] => dvtpdw [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => BirthdayPoems )

Happy birthday! This is so hope filled and graceful.
My favorite line is "In time's arms we're shown our future's beauty!"
As you point out, we don't gain dignity and graciousness until we have weathered a few storms, grown a few wrinkles, and begun to turn silver.
Age unfeared is a skill revered.
May you live another whole lifetime..at least!

question is, will they still love you when you hit sixty four
five and nine
nine and five
either way long time
so make it a pact the latter
to endure
A younger young
A more bewildering age
if there ever there was
to conjure up
I bet you might feel like
you did at five eight
or five seven
or even five three
which is what I was last
time I checked
thinking for the first time
hey man, I wish I was young
like you know, I used to think
I could use as a crux
Like, hey boy, I used to be able to
do all this when I was your age...
But kids don't give a damn about all that
They have no idea
And there you are old getting older
still
Times change, clothes can too
culture changes,
The seventies man, that's when
everything changed
used to be you had to wear things a
certain way.
Rock and Roll happened
Woodstock
Pot.
Nixon,
plastics

Happy B day!!! old man

Peace!
