[hometext] => I wrote this 11 years ago for my nephew after his visit to our island. Today is 40 days since his death and I feel so much like this again... I miss you so much, my perfect Thornbird!!
[bodytext] => From this island of your birth, today you must depart Taking with you, a little piece of my heart. I know the tears are just waiting to flow When I have to watch you turn around and go. The past three weeks have been nothing but fun, Liming and frolicking all day in the sun. But most of all, what we shared will never fade, Because of the new memories we have now made. When we stayed up and talked late that night, I realized you also had a gift to write. I’ve grown so close to you in this short space of time, You made me feel special when you shared with me, your rhyme. Your face will forever be embedded in my eyes, That handsome face you always tried to disguise. You will always be my perfect ‘thorn bird’, Even though you believe that I am being absurd. I know to you I may be just your silly old aunt, One who likes to rave and rant, But the joy that you have brought into my heart Will help me to smile when we are apart…. I Love you, Kerry.
