Took the world so forcefully, it shook
And with the introduction of all this technology
To the world was born more bad apologies

Because with these technologies has become so easy to disguise
For with a text you can simply tell a white lie
In your mind before a date creeps some doubt
So you text and say SORRY, I HAVE FELL ILL, CAN'T COME OUT

And then you find yourself in a relationship gauntlet
You take out your wingman, in the form of a tablet
So you employ your trusty trick that never fails
Saying I THINK WE ARE DONE, SORRY through an email

While wifi may seem to connect and tie
It began too the great great divide
Social media may look like a brilliant disguise
But anyone with a soul can read between the lines

Cellphones, tablets and notebooks
Took the world so forcefully, it shook
And with the introduction of all this technology
To the world was born more bad apologies

the thing about all this new technology is always on the receiving
end is a real live feeling human, i've seen people video with their
cell phones at accidents instead of calling 911- watching someone
die. it's all to our benefit tho we need remain caring humans, then
we won't have to apologize, excellent write, more should put so
much thought into our behaviors,

hugs n' love nessa

This was just a discussion I had today, you are so right. It has changed society, redefined behavior, to the point where cyber cheating is now a legal ground for divorce. Dinner is a silent affair because everyone is either texting, sexting, gaming or googling. Admittedly I am at times guilty of such behavior, but I do sometimes long for the simpler world.
Cheers,
Kris

I totally agree. We go from our offices to our cars, to our garages and close the door. We communicate without contact, use symbols for the emotions we can't express, risk nothing, hide well, commit to nothing, and need not keep promises if something better comes along. We are a throw away society, and our trash has more soul than our treasure.
Excellent write! got me thinking!

Count me in on that feeling! Great job expressing this! I wrote one of similar thoughts. Here it is - http://www.your-poetry.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=179579

You are so very right. I miss the old days of actually speaking and having to feel uncomfortable...texting removes the guilt as there is no consequence.
