You just don't bother to look.
And once more it reminds me
of the risks that I took.

Was it me who approached you,
or did fate bring us together.
Now all is said and done,
it really doesn't matter.

I finally need someone,
but where are you know?
This feeling of loss eats at me,
but it'll pas me by somehow.

Once I've reached that certain point,
I will erase you from my thoughts.
Out of sight is out of heart.
After all,
it never really meant that much.

Your words drew me in - as if you had heard me talking to the walls today! Loss lost means never knowing the truth - it often is never reclaimed tho it plays forever in the mind. Very intense write, P

Your had me thinking real deep. Its sometimes hard to get to that point when you finally burn that bridge down. But its usually worth it in the end.

I love the way you conversationalize this with yourself. Reasoning away the loss; separating yourself from the disappointment. "Out of sight is out of heart"..is a wish more than a fact. And you leave your reader to examine these protective tactics and remember when….
How well you have drawn us emotionally into the process! Your words sit quietly, allowing all of us to come forth to examine what you have to say. You have set a safe table for us to dine on your thoughts, and I have been enriched by the experience!
