To my husband, I'll love you forever and always. Thank you) [bodytext] => Though she was just 15, she was barely a whole person
like a shattered mirror, all that remained was jagged pieces of unkept promises
An abusive, mangled childhood that haunted her soul
and left her feeling like she was unworthy of family or love

But then he came into her life, a guardian angel and a best friend all in one
He showed her what it meant to be cherished
And he slowly but surely put her back together
with trails of healing kisses, loving embraces, and a promise of a better life

Eleven years, so far, that their love has conquered all
And even though she still has her bad days; days when the pain of life is almost too much to bear
He's there to hold her in his arms, soothing her sobs and putting her inner demons to rest
Eleven years, and his promise has held true

Maybe she'll never be a whole person, but everyday she gets a little closer
Everyday she finds it easier to breath, easier to stand and get through the days
Easier to smile, easier to love and be loved

And she will gladly spend the rest of her life
Showing him how dear to her heart he is, how deeply she loves him
And how grateful she is to him for saving her, for giving her a chance and a beautiful family
and for showing her that she's more than a pile of broken promises [comments] => 3 [counter] => 130 [topic] => 2 [informant] => ScorpionFire88 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

A beautiful poem, and cathartic for your past woes. Your guy is magnificent, but he knows that you need more, and he'll keep trying. He's some man, and you're one hell of a lady who'll conquer the past.
