Hair styling, chores, babysitting
Workouts, rehearsals, devotions
My daily life is a schedule

I wake up acknowledging each task
Sipping my tea or coffee
Preventing unnecessary dwelling
For I know the work will come on time

Coming home makes all the difference
I complete my checklist promptly
Knowing you are on the other end
Waiting for me to greet you and chat

Time comes around and we have a small conversation
One that's late and causes us to end with a lack of freedom
For I must fall asleep and function the next day
And you have a virtual wonder world to attend to

Honestly I miss the free flow of memorable times
Time didn't matter and neither did the console's beckon
We schedule everything including emotional bond
Why can't we deviate here and revert to earlier ways

Exactly! we do overload and compartmentalise and prioritise our funny little lives to bits.Technology does enable that as well as create the circumstances of separation in the first place.

I felt such a lovely, warm, and sad sentimentality when I read your poem, very sincere and gentle, and plaintively insightful. S

You ain't never going back there, and you and me are to blame .(not having any of that 'you and I' business, that's not grammar!)
Did we stand up and be counted? No, we went with the flow, and lost everything.
