Succumb to gravity's enthrall
It is quickly so, without fail
Embracing destruction, in their fall

Lady Luck, may I have this dance?
One of elegance, and lovely fance
Hoping that this circumstance
Will endow me with grand new chance

I knew mellow moods and blue moons,
But now I know neither,
Subject of both's efforts to eschew,
Casting off the writhing writer!

In an abyss, encompassed black
Feeling as though my steps are tracked,
There just may be a beast leering back.
Would it, could it, will it have attacked?

No naivete, you will not blanket spirit.
No matter what lies ahead, I cannot fear it!
This strife of ambition, the end, I'm near it!
No more fear! The thought, I cheer it!

What a wonderful poem. Do not hold back, and do not fear the repercussions of your actions, even if they destroy you. Spirit will prevail. Beautifully penned.

This has a wonderful swaying gait to it, and the message is sublime! What a testimony to mankind that we are the only creatures that know we are going to die….and we choose to wait it out anyway!
"No more fear…I cheer it!"
"No matter what lies ahead, I cannot fear it!"
Bravo!

You definitely study, I can tell by how you craft your poems. You are looking for that perfect word to elevate your meaning to perfect and you risk all to do so. It is like that with your meaning too (borne out in this poem), this singular aspect is why I do not classify prose as poetry. You have this gift in your writing to baffle and turn readers.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
