Here's a Switch

Muppetman has penned a tale;
A Sad Switch story to unveil;
Where it took me; what it said;
Begs me ask you all instead..

If you had an extra switch;
That you could press, or turn, or twitch;
To pump it up; or make it lack;
Or shut if off, or bring it back;
Make it fast; or slow it down;

Change the color; or the sound;
Make it taller, wider, shorter;
Make it your way in short order;
Make it spin, or stretch, or pour;
Wonder what youd use it for?

Would you put a sign on it:
So everyone could play with it?
Or would you hide it well away
For fear of what the neighbors say?

If you had a little switch;
That could scratch most any itch;
Wonder when you got the knack;
How fast you'd want to change things back!

Imagine if we all could do;
Everything we wanted to;
We would need a switch-off truce;
To curb our unintended use!

Then the police would come one day;
And take your little switch away!
Well, so much for having fun;
Thanks Muppetman- this poem is done!

How do you do this writing at will thing? That always impresses me!

Very cute poem indeed.

My switch that I have been working on for around ten years now is an emotion switch. When completed it will only have one use. To switch the emotions on and off. I will become world famous and rich beyond all compare....even the Trumpmesiter! And then...then I won't need it.

Thank you, as always, for a wonderful read.

Sir Tim

Great poem. I feel honored that I maybe inspired such a wonderfully philosophical and absurdly witty poem.
I like simplicity; strangely the more simple things get
the more life itself becomes gloriously unorthodox and
beautifully varied.

This is a real gem!

Peace!
