Floating and bobbing across
The brisk ocean waves
Shifting and tossing about
For all of these days
Still wondering if this
Is how it always behaves
My crystal clear shield
Is transparent it seems
I can/'/t even hide
Disguised as the tide
What you can not see
Are my hopes and dreams
What my future should be
Nor can you see
What this life has done to me
The glass that covers me
Keeps me safe from so much
Even the kind and generous touch
I need from you, so much

I like the visual your words create - as if the reader is floating with you. So much truth in your write - can quite relate. Yet it holds promise for all of us. Very, very nice write - quite enjoyed the read, P

I like the way you write
and express your feeling in such
raw and emotional way.
This is just SIMPLELY beautiful .
Excellent!

How I can relate. I like this a lot. It really covers the message of or idea of having one/'/s self in a shell, in a way I never even considered. :o

Perhaps the Benjamin Franklin quote may strike a chord, to help you uncork yourself before too long. :)

"Those who sacrifice liberty in the name of security, deserve neither."

I/'/ve been there many times, and soon I shall return. Unlike Zarathustra, or Henry David Thoreau, I don/'/t go to some cave, or woodland home to be alone, but rather I go to deep within my self. As sane as it keeps us, it/'/s a good way to make our tears grow stagnant, rather than fresh, pure, or clean. And we have to ask ourselves one important question:

If we don/'/t shed our tears
Because of unshared fears
Instead we/'/re choosing to store,
But just what are we saving them for?

No one knows us as we do! Thank you for this visual feast from within! Your message is a parody:The protections we build to keep out harm, also keep out joy.
And although we can see what we want, we will not risk our safety to have them! Alas, we are left to eloquently lament our own intent, as you have so splendidly concluded!
