I Get in my car after work Exhausted, but so happy to be out from behind my desk and my computer
I Put my fingers on the gearshift until
I Receive a text from a good friend and
I Respond with three texts of my own
I immediately receive a Facebook message from a friend Respond to it And get an emoji in return
I Drive all the while trying to memorize my next piece That will immediately go down my iPad Be copied, and pasted on every social media network that I am a part of Invariably
I Get responses
I ask myself
Will I
Ever see these people ? Will they ever hear me ?
I Am still alone

Nice poem Fox.
Just like the commercial of the intoxicated young lady dying at a bus stop. Yeah, she had a million Facebook friends. Didn/'/t do her any good.
Social media is more of a negative to many than a positive. Nice job here.

Tomorrow. Forget electricity. However far it may be: go into an empty field, touch the biggest tree, and the lie down. Let your eyes fall upon the /'/triviality/'/ of grass. There is a world there, and it doesn/'/t give a toss for social media. You/'/ll be surprised at the activity in such a small space, and it will still be there when Facebook is a distant memory. |
