What is it that I will see?
Will I see you there forever,
Or will it just be me?

Many roads we have travelled,
Valleys as well as hills we have crossed.
Was the damage too profound,
Or is it something that continued to grow beneath the frost?

From the minute I “felt” you –
The spark was visible even to others;
My soul undeniably just knew –
I was bound to yours through thorns as well as flowers.

As the years progressed,
We both made mistakes as humans often do,
And although we drifted apart in pain,
My first and last thought everyday was still YOU.

No matter the reasons, no matter the “who” –
Looking in the mirror of our story,
All I ever want to see is YOU!
