Turns make believe to truth itself;
The known and trusted overturned;
What is, what was, must be unlearned.

An envelopes a headstone;
A blade of grass, a sword;
He sees what no one else has known;
To pen his just reward;

Most of us are earthly bound;
And never think to try;
To soar above this fertile ground;
And I will tell you why;

We see a stone as just a stone;
A river as a brook;
We label things and people;
Without a second look.

A writer clings on silent wings;
Unlike you or I;
To overtake his dreams awake;
And lift himself to sky. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 273 [topic] => 69 [informant] => softerware [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => poets )

Your pieces are works of art and never cease to amaze. You my friend are among the greats. Maybe it isnt to fool ourselves as much as to draw the reader into a world that only we can imagine and put into words. We can paint such a vivid picture using words instead of paints..Just like your last stanza says...We cling to silent wings and cause our dreams to awaken and take flight taking us and those who care to join us for one heck of a ride...Another great work of art my friend.

Rich

Seriously seriously clever and beautiful poem! I especially like the lines The known and trusted overturned;
What is, what was, must be unlearned.

This poem blew my mind! I was seriously out my nut when I read this genius poem! I had just taken not long ago a good amount of cocaine alcohol and some pregablin tablets.

This poem just brought on my buzz even more! its like a drug!

I found it mysterious and ambiguous yet at the same time I feel like I understood it profoundly on a deep almost subconscious level! Like it spoke to my soul!

You are a great writer and i/'/m gonna look for your poems in the future! your words are intoxicating like a drug all on there own! seriously talented!

This is a humbling read. As the comments show, I join them in my gratitude in being able to bathe in wisdom and swim in your profound pool.

I join every writer here when I say, thank you, Jaye.
