He had been my neighbor since 1979.
He had a loving wife and two children.
He has died but we will see him again.
His death is hard for his friends and family to face.
He/'/s in Heaven now which is a far better place.
It/'/s tragic because his life came to an end.
He was a great neighbor and a friend.
When I learned that he died, it was very sad.
But now he/'/s in Heaven with my mom and dad. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 95 [topic] => 52 [informant] => randyjohnson [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

I agree with your sentiments. Death only hurts the living.
I do believe that when we lose a friend, we ourselves are diminished. That the emptiness can be filled by a scar attests to our blessing of self-healing.
There is little we cannot survive and return from.
You have been changed.
Be patient and kind to yourself; we are, none of us, immortal.

People, especially those whom you love and know,
always live on...
Somewhere, certainly
A bit of them in everybody and everything that lives here
now, said the mangy old mare---
see that makes me think of Chekhov
And This Poem About Heaven / Just What Heaven is For
So you have seen it
So then you know
Peace!
