As we live our lives each day
And perhaps you too will hear
A divine whisper say ----------

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[bodytext] => The Love of A Brother
Today I saw a miracle
Something fantastic in the sky
The face of a brother
Left alone to die
He had no food
No medicine or love
No one cared for his needs
Except God up above
He became ordinary
Just another bum on the street
No one cared he cried
Or had a spirit sweet
No one saw the value
In helping a broken man
Just let him cope
Do the best he can
His eyes pleaded for mercy
His face communicated his pain
Yet for all his efforts
His pleas were in vain
Growing ever weaker
Slipping day by day
Until finally his time was at an end
God was calling him away
I held him in my arms
Described the wonders above
Whispered “ Trust in Jesus “
“ He will greet you in love “
Looking into my eyes
With an intensity like no other
He said “ I have waited a lifetime”
“ For you to come my brother “
Then as he breathed his last
This poor man of no worth
As his spirit departed
Mounting up from this earth
Taken totally aback
Mouth agape in surprise
I was dumbfounded to see
Right before my eyes
Angel wings unfurling
More beautiful than I can convey
Majestic was his glory
As he went his way
I heard a voice within
Whisper this word
With the clarity of a bell
This is what I heard
“ You see the Arch Angel Michael “
“ Ascending on high “
“ He was but a bum in the streets “
“ Until you walked by “
“ While he lived upon the earth “
“ He was discounted by men “
“ Noticed but not loved “
“ That is until when “
“ A stranger showed mercy “
“ Bestowed compassion upon another “
“ Michael was transformed by love “
“ Found in the heart of a brother “
It is our fellow man that we must be fully aware of,and you have expressed that beautifully. I wish EVERYONE felt this way.
Maybe your poem will help them to see that.
Angel always...Godspeed!!! joni
