the day the stormclouds broke and flooded the land
losing my grip on the evidence
grains of sanity all slipping through my hands
the greyed out words: I was giving up
no glamour or wonder to hold my head high
the overwhelming sense I ****** up
water rising as I sent out my goodbyes

but somehow I found air to breathe
a sense of peace there underneath
solitary lands so barren
start rebuilding and repairing
fertile soil for my garden
planting seeds for hearts unhardened
let nature run its course in time
and make sure all my feelings rhyme

now I`m standing on a precipice
looking out at this new life I`ve created
somehow doesn`t feel so treacherous
instead of scared I feel exhilarated
vibrant colours lights up my landscape
these rolling hills used to be a battlefield
images from dreams are taking shape
as I am drawn into your magnetic field

and somehow I`ve found laughter here
that just might last year after year
reflections of two grounded souls
instead of deceit and loopholes
I`ve waited for so long for this
too tired for more hit and miss
this season`s blooms have grown so bright
and in their beauty, I delight [comments] => 3 [counter] => 119 [topic] => 54 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => happypoetry )
