[hometext] => I went missing, and nobody noticed!
[bodytext] => I wasn’t sure I could talk face to face; With no spell check, delete, or emoticon face.
So I shut off my phone and looked up (and not down).
There were hundreds of people all standing around!
Pecking their palms while I stood and stared. I went unnoticed, like I wasn’t there.
I couldn’t ignore them, cause there was no way; To check on my email or find games to play.
I’d forgotten how boring my life used to be; Before I could broadcast so effortlessly.
Were far too important (it should be a crime) to unmultitask to one thing at a time.
Give me my address book; help me connect! Forgive me for using my auto correct.
How lucky my phone tells me just what to do.
Or your Hallmark card would still be in the Q.
A microchips faultless, it always remembers.
All we need do is sign up and surrender.

//Again with the fiction, dear Softy. I believe everyone would notice that you are missing.
This poem was very enjoyable to me. Your wit and flair for the breezy effortless rhymes seems to have no limits. Impressive, indeed.
I/'/ll admit I surrended years ago to the smart phone but I do not go off into my own little world. I have conversations and I listen. However, its uses help me immensely. GPS to help me find my way through a city that I have not yet learned fully. Alarm clock to help me wake up in the morning. check to see how the Kansas City chiefs are doing and/or the St Louis baseball Cardinals are doing. Remind me of things that I have to do. Saves a lot of paper.
Please keep them coming. Thank you.
