Cut away your sorrows
Cut away your pain
Cut away your emptiness
Cut away the day

A picture you have made
A story you have told
Another night spent crying
Another night feeling cold

Cut away the darkness
Cut away the lies
Cut away the hopelessness
Cut away the demise

You know the cost of bleeding
But now the world may see
All that you can never say
All that you’ve come to be

Cut away your dignity
Cut away your confusion
Cut away your self-esteem
Cut away your delusion

That’s all you are
A crimson pile on the floor
You know redemption is not that far
But the crimson color holds its own allure

Cut away today
And maybe you’ll be free
At least for a second you can forget
All your insecurities

Strawberry gashes on your arm
You don’t think they do much harm
But that was before you looked in the mirror
And saw me staring back in fear

You looked into my soul
I looked into your mind
Then I found out what I was dreading
What I knew deep down that I would find

Those crimson stories on your body
They are identical to mine
That look of sorrow in your eyes
I see me inside

Then I break the mirror
As the pieces shatter to the floor
Then I laugh hysterically
I don’t see you anymore.

Wow! This is really good. The only comment I would make is - Why strawberry gashes? I get the colour connection but strawberries are associated with nice stuff and self harm isn't. Really good poem though!! I really enjoyed it!!

I really liked it. It's really good. Was it in relation to cutting or seriously cutting wrists, though? Nice discriptions. I like the 'strawberry gashes' because it can be seen as a good thing, as release. :) All good,
Lars

I am in complete and utter awe. I am stumbling over the words to descibe what exactly I am thinking... so I won't say them. This was amazing. -Amy
