The Dark Passenger

Contributed by djs on Thursday, 5th September 2024 @ 11:56:45 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

There is a monster lurking within.

Vicious and unrelenting,

Ruthless and unforgiving.

Intently watching as he documents all my sins.

Pulling me to the darkness,

like an anchor in the sea.

The depths of despair are calling,

Emptiness is home to me.

I've treaded water for all these years,

Narrowly escaping his company.

But I've grown tired of trying,

There'll be no deliverance from his misery.

I belong in the abyss,

The place there the evil thrives,

The place where sadness echoes,

The place where hope dies.

Sinking to the bottom,

Out of sight and out of mind,

Fade into the darkness,

Ready to close my eyes.

For the record, my opinion is one of agreement and vehement disagreement. I realize this sounds conflicting but my reasons are we all have an abyss lurking behind us which will swallow us entirely if we permit it but, again, my opinion, noone deserves to be in such a state. We all have issues. Some we can safely ignore and not face any repercussions for it. And we have issues which must be defined and dealt with...however, for whatever reason, we will need help dealing, even if it just the comfort of knowing there is someone who will do just that in whatever manner we allow. Thank you for sharing this!
