The green hills and bald cliffs,
Where time is just a word,
Where colors meet and darkness hides,
I know a place like this.

I know a sound that
When heard
Sets free a wondering mind
That wants to go there.
More beautiful than autumn,
More precious than a rose,
I know a sound that will take you there.

And I know a light,
So pure and so bright,
That sedates the soul it touches,
That runs deep through the deepest obscurity,
And defeats any darkness,
And abolishes sadness,
And conquers any uncertainty.

It, too, will take you there

I know of a place where
Three rivers meet,
Where willows grow,
And the summer breeze greets
The traveler with now bags packed.

I know of a land where
Fear is just a dream,
And a cobblestone road leads
To the rivers,
And birds fly so high,
And people never die,
And night is as bright as day.

I’ve heard of a place that
So few know,
Filled with a thousand voices,
Filled with a thousand dreams,
And to this place I would love to go
And be that traveler to the Promise Land.

I know a place far beyond
The green hills and bald cliffs,

Yet I know only that it exists,
And because my mind persists,
Please point me in the right direction.
