My life is as black as the midnight sky,
My mind can’t seem to let me die.
emotions swirling in a deep black pit,
Going down and down this is it.
Death seems to hover above my head,
Saying you’d be better off dead.
The pain in my heart takes my breath away,
Not wanting to live to see another Day.
The darkness gets deeper and deeper,
as my mind gets weaker and weaker.
Things will get better I used to think,
But it doesn’t as deeper I sink.
Death is scary but so is life,
All it would take is a knife.
Then there wouldn’t be anything to worry about,
Oh, It would be an easy way out.
I then realize what a coward I would be,
It took a few hours for me to see.
That courage it takes to live this life,
A coward I would be to use a knife.
I’m too strong too go down this way,
So to hell with all, I am here to stay.

Life against death, a brave verdict
especially when things are dark and gloomy
the easy way out is just escapism, the poem insists
strength and courage can overcome the fear of living.
I commend you for balancing this issue.
