I notice your garden
now that summer is here
now that I know you had been there
tilling the earth with your fingers
fingerprinted for eternity in my heart,
when in "A Brief History of Thyme",
I had fallen in love with you
and time stood still.
I crash into your life in a single wave
clinging to the shore
but bound by the tide
and in my hope to secure you
the shattered treasure of my heart
is cast upon the beach
leaving my print for a moment
but washed by the next wave.
I cant find my way into your life
from the shore of my regret
to your garden on the corner lot
and Ive dropped my heart
somewhere in-between
broken in a sparkle coloring my poetry
and I cant seem to find it
though I have all the time in the world.
