without betraying my feelings of loving you?
I avoid your glance in my attempt
to paint your name in a longing whisper,
savor the sound of your laugh,
and hold your gait in an embrace of song and rhyme.

If I was to fall to your seduction,
the passion wouldn’t last
in a cold walk from an empty bed,
exposing me to the morning’s glare,
spoiled on the drawn linens,
spilling the seed of poetry
onto the deaf ear of debauchery.

The night hides the fantasy,
shadowed in my yearning never told
ever to hold in my vault of affection.
And in my walk with you,
I adore the conversation in my head,
seeding another poem that springs
from my reason to love you.

a heart with a pen attached...I cracked up laughing. what a compliment. thank you. well, I do wear my heart on my sleeve so sometimes it drips on the empty page and I try like an ink-blot test to make something out of my ache.
