Array ( [sid] => 20875 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => INTEGRITY [time] => 2003-07-24 04:05:00 [hometext] => When my dear husband died, I stood by his bedside and slowly watched as the life force ebbed from his body.. It took me 32 years to write this in a poem. I hurt that much then, and still do! [bodytext] => 'Twas a small ski vale,
A peaceful snowy mountain.
The day and year,
March 10, 1971.
The "Prize of Life,"
was the victory to be won!

He bowed to death,
against his will!
Challenging his loyalty,
with his integrity still!

Silenced by a coma.
Is it possible he could hear
a whisper in his ear?
"We love you so much,
to us you are so dear!!!

A tender kiss,
upon his feverish brow.
Devastating Helplessness!
"Oh, Please Dear God,
don't let him die now!"

Three little children
he'll leave to live,
without a father giving
all that he could give.

Standing by his bedside,
Bowing now to his death.
Against my will!
Unrelenting...
Faithful still!

'Tis March 10, 2003
Now 32 years bound
in death's grasp.
In an entombed prison,
Soon to be released.
Resurrected,
Life Forever
At Last!

A tragic thing to have happened to you ... I'm so very sorry ... but it is wonderful that you are finally able to write the words in a poem - the best release you can find .... nicely written ... Jan

O dear Connie, it's just brought tears into my eyes. I really am very sorry. Loss of a dear one is the biggest grief. May his soul rest in peace. He was a lucky man to have such a kind hearted woman like you.
It's as always and expected a beautiful write from you...shows how much you loved him and still you do!
God bless you!
Saira

I felt every word here deep in my heart and soul. You are remarkable and strong. This is a loss so great and your love for him still shines though in this piece of art. Bless you.

You are so brave. It can be a very painful thing keeping something locked up for so long, but at least you have released it in such a wonderful way. Much love and respect, Broken-glass xxxxxx
