Array ( [sid] => 21392 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => god bless americas [time] => 2003-08-02 22:04:25 [hometext] => this isn't about our current war. it's about all of them. the hypocrisy of our worldwide murder campaign. and bleeding heart flag wavers need not leave comments. i don't care how much you love your country, if you can't see the hypocrisy, then your brainless comment would only waste precious seconds of my life. [bodytext] => war's foreplay
dealt in tongues and teasing guns
intoxicates the world with the wine of blood
mechanical soldiers, line up to die
fight for god and country
trained to never question, "Why?"
just shoot to kill, evade, and invade
destroy those who would oppress
but, question not the oppression
you endure in your own backyard

kill other nationalities, that's ok by us
but leave your guns in other countries
for at home it's not allowed
other nations ***** us off, so let's go wipe them out
but, when your neighbor decides to nail your wife
you better swallow back that bile

moral majority blood lust, lets loose the dogs of war
the need of many to kill the few
bypasses law and even "commandment"
but, we still smile in our sunday suits
even as innocent blood stains our hands

your god said, "thou shalt not kill"
but i guess he meant,
"thou shalt not kill, except in the name of country"
bull*****
it's all or none
if it's ok to destroy another country
just because they stand up to us
why is it illegal for me to stab my sonofa***** neighbor
whose dog barks all damn night

red, for the blood of nations
that spills to appease our masses
white, for the purity we pose
blue, for the sky that we'll soon burn black
with mushroom clouds and casualty pyres
these are the colors that fly so high
representing hypocrisy, representing lies
a symbol for which we live and die
a nationwide cross
on which we hang the world

Nice... and sadly so true. I loved all this and it is so angry just like me at the moment.
but, we still smile in our sunday suits
even as innocent blood stains our hands
That is so true Bush goes to church with the blood of thousands of innocent Iraqis and other innocent ppl on his hands. Great poem none could've said it better than you.

I agree with Bobo. Your poem is the sad truth. Need I say more?

many ppl share your view me included, that line:
"mechanical soldiers, line up to die"
is so completely true, the huge conformist machines the government creates to kill.... all in all a great poem filled with insightful truth ~Apryl

i like how you put your views to work here..........it all rings true........we all have a right to be very angry about what our government is representing to others in our name

this was very well put together

i like the "sunday suits" line myself!!!!
