as days tumble in and go
jumbled fire is in my brain
these words to you, I must make, just so.

I can't pick up the phone
haven't any words to say
of all that I've been shown
you wouldn't listen anyway.

It's a simple walk upon the water
take it if you think you can
baptize yourself in hypocritical fodder
if you think it will make you a man.

Bottom line, you have no courage
finally now others see my plight
you've made me walk along the edge
watch as those behind me take up the fight.

To cleanse new life you must again breathe
ask forgiveness and then move on
while in your path all are left to seethe
you just take and take, you moron.

I needed you and you were never there
you had many warnings so I bailed
you never really ever cared
until after I had already bailed.

Now all you do is break the ties
ones I so carefully bound
all you gave our son were lies
you left me reeling with the gavel sound.

Someday he'll know and he'll be free
of your agendas and your sins
he'll knock on the door and embrace me
knowing honesty was all I gave to him.
