AmericanTragedy

Nocturnal scenery imposed upon the mind, Some fruit of tragedy within its spring, Some awkward comfort it will bring.
Troubles gracefully drift away, And with the smoke mingle, While all my senses tingle.
My eyes become heavy, I heave a sigh, And leave this lie.
This lie, imposed like nocturnal scenery, Upon my mind, Is the endless grind.
The black whips lash, And strike with deadly force, To deter us from our course.
And keep us on their own, Grey tunic and pants the uniform, We move as one unruly swarm.
Rebels appear and disappear, As thousands of people converge, Upon the powers as a single angry surge.
At last, the flags of revolt fly high, Over crashing stock markets, And on covetous, conservative jets.
Startled by a plane passing overhead, I raise my gaze to see what can be seen, But only see the world this could have been.
