I know this is true
But some times I want him
I don't know what to do
He's very kind and sweet
But he's taken by a friend
With her I can not compete
I hope they are happy in the end
I hope she always treats him right
Friends is all that we should be
But some times I think of him in the night
I know that he could never want me
I am fat and ugly
To him I am only a friend
Some times I think he can see
I want him to be more than a friend
He's a friend that's how it must be
I wish the best to them
Happy is what I wish them to be

A really well written piece about the most difficult period in younger peoples lives. (see my poem "He's not the only one")

A century ago communities were smaller people didn' travel very much, choices were few, compromises were many and indeed the only practical solution.

Now we travel, mix, and have wider ambitions. Life is much more difficult and stressful

Your poem reveals an old head on young shoulders. You are bound to chose wisely and make a success of it. (other of my poems that might interest you are "Love boat" and "Love is".)

friends first for loves foundation,
maybe a day will come there wont be hesitation,
never underestimate love,
it alights upon you like a dove,
when it is meant to be, youll see
love will come to you; like it did me:)
hugs n' love nessa

I agree with a previously comment; I'm not sure if you understand how beautiful you really are. You express such compassion and thoughtfulness in this poem, it by far overshadows the theme of lust. I know too much about that emotion, it is a hard one to deal with, but it is only an emotion afterall, and happiness is much more important then desire. If desire is going to make you or the people it affects miserable, then it is not worth the time. Your words of wisdom are wonderful, and I have no idea, nor interest on your age, for wisdom is eternal.

when love is real - looks don't matter

and don't be so hard on yourself - I can see that you are beautiful in your words

I am ancient and wise in these matters

merry
