Array ( [sid] => 22029 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => new beginnings [time] => 2003-08-18 00:35:00 [hometext] => a man takes a last ditch effort to save his failing marriage. a truly touching piece. [bodytext] => i won't let them take you
they'll never find you here
i'll keep you safe
i'll protect you from them
because i love you
and we will ALWAYS be together

i'll hide you here
while i'm at work
while everyone tells me
how sorry they are that you left me
(that's what i'll tell everyone)
they'll never know

after work, i'll bring you flower
and we'll have romantic candle lit dinners
like we should've had
before you tried to leave

i'm sorry i wasn't more attentive before
and i'm sorry for all the times i hit you
you just b**ched too damn much
but, that's all behind us, isn't it
yes, things will be different this time, won't they?
i won't hit you, because you won't nag
you can't nag, now that i've cut out your tongue
DON'T CRY, you know i hate that
alright then, back in the cellar with you

you'll learn to like it down here
i'll come get you when i get home from work
and we'll have those dinners i promised you
i hope you realize how serious i am
about making this relationship work
i even broke your legs
so that i wouldn't have to chain you up
because that would be demeaning
and you know i respect you

i love you sweetie
and i'm so happy that you decided
to give me this second chance
i won't let you down
now, i've got to go to work
but, here's a broom
you should be able to fend off most of the rats with it

i love you and i'll miss you, hon
