Array ( [sid] => 22087 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => For All You Didn't Do [time] => 2003-08-19 06:05:00 [hometext] => To my parents. Thanks for nothing. [bodytext] => Your faithless words leave me so cold
As who you really are unfolds
Through all the things you told
You've got me feeling so tired now
I'll show you you were wrong somehow
And that's my solemn vow

Why am I never good enough?
Why can't you just believe in me?
Why don't you see the love that shines
Between us two and let it be?

I'm doing something with my life
Your words, they cut me like a knife
But I will be his wife
And there won't ever be a day
That I come crawling back your way
You're pushing me away

You act like I'm incompetent
And you keep telling me I'll fail
Saying that I'm going nowhere
I guess your love is all for sale

You'll never see the wounds inside
But know damn well you put them there
Don't ever put me down again
Go wash your hands of my despair

You could wait for me forever
I hope it tears you up inside
To realize just how wrong you were
And wonder if you should have tried

You could have been there for me -
But you weren't.
You could have supported me -
But you didn't.
So for all you didn't do
I say **** YOU
And for all the messed up **** you did
Farewell I bid

You'll see you were wrong
And I'll never be like you
So for now, so long
'Cause I'll be happier than you [comments] => 5 [counter] => 229 [topic] => 6 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )

They'll find out they were wrong. All you can do, is wait for that day.

your poem is so full of pain - with the frictiion that festers betweeen parent and child sometimes - good write
well i was a daughter and remember being 18 (just barely) and my parents hated the man i eventually ended up marrying - my mother put me thru hell - long story.
And then as a mother - see i told you it was a long story - i promised to stand by my kids no matter what and i try to live by that and be there for them - even now that they are all grown up - i figure i'll need to live with them in a few years - lol - sometimes time heals these riffs - i'm sure they only want the best for you and are having trouble communicating that. keep the doors open and maybe love and understanding will come back in

un beso
merry
