Death stalks my soul
But I am not afraid
For God is in control
Soon I will shed this flesh
And then you will see
The man God created
As he was meant to be [bodytext] => Metamorphosis

Tis now the autumn of my life
The dreams of a once bright future turn crimson
In reflection of the sunset fast approaching

The leaves of my life's promise
Fall silently toward the ground
Wafting erratically upon the breeze of eternal destiny

What? Shall I bemoan my fate?
Is it not the fate of all living?
Indeed I shall not!
For I shall ascend from this earthen vessel

I shall as a butterfly emerge
A new creation from its cocoon
I shall spread wings of joy
And ride upon the winds of eternity

Amidst wonders unperceived by hearts of flesh
To become forevermore a testament
A majestic and painstakingly crafted jewel
To reflect the glory and love of He who is my creator
~~
Yes, my hair turns new shades of gray
My body stoops a little lower
As it seeks to return to the ground
To be planted as a seed

But fear not my friend
For I shall not rest there as some suppose
I shall burst forth
Hearkening to Gods command

And death shall no more hold me
Sin no more diminish and deceive
I will be counted as one of the faithful
Because simply... I chose to believe
