I pray the Lord my soul to keep
and if I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

***********************************************
The lord your God is everywhere.
and he will surely hear your prayer.

Commend your soul to God's safe keeping,
For he'll protect you whilst you're sleeping.

Each night on some far celestial plain,
good fights evil in an eternal campaign.

God strives to drive Satan's legions
back to the depths of Hell's dark regions,

The battle has raged since time began
for the ultimate prize, the soul of man.

Fear not, sleep soft, for God's strong arm
will keep your sleeping soul from harm.

Prayer and purity and pious deeds
gives God the power and strength he needs

to ensure Satan's evil is close confined
and keep earth safe for all mankind

But man rejects religious teaching
turns his back on church and preaching

no longer turns the other cheek,
but preys upon the sick and weak.

And each murder, rape or mutilation
debauchery, theft or desecration;

each evil deed of men most vile,
swells Lord Satan's rank and file.

And as support for the Lord God falters
the balance of power slowly alters

until a barbaric act in a distant land
tips the power to Satan's hand

and neither prayer or rosary or angelic sword
will turn aside the Devil's horde.

And when your God has been swept aside
when all things good and pure have died;

the Lord of evil, the Prince of lies,
will come to earth to claim his prize.

What's that which woke you from your dreaming
the sounds of night or far off screaming ?

And hark, the sound of distant drumming
is this the sound of Satan's coming ?

Hush, listen is there someone there ?
a stealthy footfall upon the stair ?

The clink of metal ? A sword stained red ?
Is this the chopper to chop off your head ?

==================================
If you should die before you wake
There is no God your soul to take

No, it is religious; just Satanic. Yep. The pope is gonna be all over you for this one. But ya know, I really don't care. You made a nice flow to it. Groovy.
