Among slivers of windows smashed,
A thousand people run a-muck,
Escape danger with only luck.

Cops called in from cities four,
More are needed to settle the score,
Rubber bullets and tear gas,
To break up the drunks amassed.

Horrors flashed within one’s mind,
Of things tomorrow one may find.
How long will all this carnage last?
Why has all this not yet passed?

How can people be so dumb?
Are their minds completely numb?
From sex and booze, what else they choose,
In times like this, they all will lose.

When cars are toppled in the street
Some people say “is that not sweet?”
How can people praise such things?
Do they not see what carnage brings?

Did it happen in their homes?
Why is it elsewhere they roamed?
In came helicopter and National Guard,
Violence must have hit quite hard. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 376 [topic] => 51 [informant] => Jessica_Saini [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Event )

I would like to make a correction to something. The police did not use tear gas or bullets of any sort. They used pepper spray and a thing called pepper balls. But oh well, if FOX News can embellish their stories, why can't I embellish my poetry;)
I would also like to note that I underestimated the number of people. According to the Department of Public safety, the number is 2,000-3,000.
45 (or 46 depending on the news article) were arrested. Less than half were students of my university.
