Array ( [sid] => 24651 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Love Song to the Rejected [time] => 2003-10-08 22:27:11 [hometext] => I wrote this poem as a love song to a person my heart bleeds for. When you lack self-love, you lack soul. I threw some music to this; I know its hard for a reader to feel without hearing it sung, but I hope you can still feel what I'm trying to express. [bodytext] => You're standing there
Aloof
Your breath forms clouds of smoke
Cigarettes
You're trying so hard
Go get noticed
To fit in
Don't you know I'll
Love you just the same

See you're dying inside
You're dyining beside me
Don't you know
That they'll love you the best
The way I love you the rest
Of the time its just us
Lets stay together
We're alone

You gave so much
For bitter friendships
You bent down on one knee
For teasers
My world is not
Rose-coloured glasses
But I still have
My own name

And you're trying to get by
You're trying to get by me
Don't you know
I know you
So much better
Than the world does
If we're together
And alone

Now we're here
Alone
Its so much nicer
Here than outside
We're best of when
We're together
No impressions
Safe where judgement
Sleeps

But you're crying inside
You're crying beside me
Cause you know
That you can't
Cause you've come so far
So lets stay together
And alone

But you're crying inside
You're crying beside me
Cause you know
That you can't
And you're angry
And you're desperate
And you're hurting
Cause you've come so far
Lets just stay together

If I could hear this as a song I think that it would be a good one. It was a good write even without the music...or without it being sung. It was sad though. Thanks for sharing.

Emma.
