US President George W Bush has announced fresh measures designed to hasten the end of communist rule in Cuba.

BBC 10 October 2003

Ö/

„Well, ya see we have an election upcoming.
And I need those Cuban votes in Florida!“

Oh, such a man of principle you are!
The West‘s most shining star!

And you think anyone is fooled
By your bully-boy talk?
Ah, you are VERY strong
You sparrow dressed as hawk

Tiny Cuba – Oh what danger!
Now you want to squeeze her
Get all the corruption back
In a vice-like grip to freeze her

What won't this sad little man do
to win a few of your votes?
He‘ll take the poor of Cuba
By the nose and by the throats

And you think they‘re going to thank you
for ruining their lives?
Bringing back the prostitutes
Mafia and drug dives?

What a sick society Bush creates
Permanently at war
It‘s time this sad dumbo was kicked out
Time the people said „No more!“

Yes I totally agree that Bush is stuck in his war mongering little world. I haven't been this embarrased to be an American since the Reagan years.

Sanctions hurt the people NOT the government I wish the warmongering American government would see that but I guess the blood of the innocent Iraqis and Afghanis killed clouds their vision.

Wow! This poem is awesome. I am really into what's going on in this world, but I've thought about writing a poem about it! Great job, I wish I had the "guts" to write something like this. I definitely agress with what you have to say in this poem!!
