You chew the words
You spit them out
With no regrets you slit the wrist
The blood was drained
That formed the child
The child was born
The star was raised
The flag was dropped
That burned in flame
The state that fell
With no remorse
It ran it’s coarse
It drown in flame
The souls were lost
The cost they pay
They wish they may
They wish they might
They wish upon
That falling star tonight
All they loved
All their lives
With all their hate
In this poor game
What shame that take
The lace was strapped
Behind their necks
The careless thoughts
Behind their eyes
The mindless souls
All by them selves
Last of their kind they have no heart
No soul to dwell
No spell to trap
No king, no queen
No good, nor bad
The sad, the fear
They all hold dear
Their hearts, they crumble
They remain… lost

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
