Looking out across the surface, where the sun had come to rest
Sparkling like diamonds, reflecting back into the blue
Thoughts and tears of yesterdays, and this morning's lonely few

Not sorrowed for fates road, nor the way in which the spirits guide
More that she is tainted,by the guilt and need to hide
A complicated soul, not who others really see
Deep below the surface, undercurrents of more than she

Preening in the sunlight, ducks with browns, greens and gold
Feathers dropped then found,by a child, two years old
To watch her face exploring, all the paints of natures pot
Brings a certain comfort,a true "forget me not"

Her innocence is charming, eyes of fascination shine
Blonde curly locks, huge blue eyes, among the dandelions
With feathers in her tiny hands, muddied by the earth
She walks towards her Mama and returns the gift of birth

Between her Mama's legs, she sits and shares the morn'
Looking out across the dam, just hours after dawn
Atop her curls in the sunlight, her Mama places a kiss
Knowing every day she goes on,living for moments as this
