Array ( [sid] => 27483 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => So Why Even Try? [time] => 2003-11-19 23:02:58 [hometext] => All of my frustration coming to a point and exploding into a poem. Inspiration came from driving home one night and seeing a particularly morbid sunset. [bodytext] => Walkin' both ways down a dead end street,
Some face in the rain that I'm waitin' to meet.
From the fire to the flame,
Forced to endure the pain,
Time's tickin' down fast,
'Cause nothin' can last.

Turned in from the outside,
Nowhere left; now you can't hide
From all of your fears,
Can't fool me with your tears.

Go ahead scream and shout,
Cry all you like; no sound will come out.
Don't try to recall; to remember your name,
In this day and age, a fair mind is fair game.
And yet you believe things will work out when you find
A way to put all of your heartache behind.

But there's no way to win, no easy path home,
Just give the search up; you'll always be alone.
Watch the bloodred sun set behind wallclouds of gray,
Lie down in the rain and wait for the day
That you'll finally be happy and finally be loved,
Wait for the sun to come out and shine down from above.

But that day never comes and the pain never ends,
And sometimes hearts are broken and never can mend,
People can't accept Fate
People always finish late.
Too late to find the truth they left behind,
Too late to see that doing so they've gone and lost their minds. Morbid sunset?

I've never really seen a morbid sunset, but I guess I'd write something like this, should I ever do.

Interesting.
