the boy in the chair,
With child eyes of innocence,
and hospital hair.
Rocking in time
to a tune in his soul,
Propelled by his nurse
on an afternoon stroll.
What is he thinking?
What does he see?
For here hangs a smile
as broad as can be
His limbs bare no strength,
nor gestures protrude
His fingers are twisted,
crippled and crude.
Does he know sorrow?
Does he know joy?
How can we ask the
Wheelchair bound boy?
I smiled as wide as I could
as they passed
and a flicker of love
from his eyes he cast,
Lifting my spirit
and filling my day
So I flickered some back
and we went on our way.

That's your soul talking. It's not until I joined YPDC that I realised I had one.

Smiled a few smiles, shed a few tears, thanks for the discovery.
