The night was dark and dreary there was no place to go.
Now the fury was arising
There was terror in our bones
We were all afraid of dying
Our future was unknown
Then a light shown all around us
With a figure in the mist
He said, " fear not my breathren," and I knew the voice was His
I said, "Lord if thats you I want to step out of the boat, I want to take you by the hand,
I want to walk upon the water
If it's you, Lord, then I can."
The Lord, he beconed to me
said, "reach out your hand in faith
And step out of the boat
I'll uphold you by my grace."
By faith I took the first step
And I kept my eyes on him
Then I started thinking what I was doing
Wondered how far that I could swim
I looked into the water, took my eyes of him
felt myself sinking started calling out for him
He reached out his hand, sweet Jesus
Pulled me gently from the waves
In the boat he whispered softly,
"Oh ye of little faith."
Next thing I rember
I was safly on the shore
That night I learned a lesson
To never doubt the Lord
Now people say I was a doubter
That I should of had more faith
But they forgot when Jesus said come
I was the only one that came.
Because I wanted to step out of the boat
I wanted to take him by the hand
I wanted to walk upon the water
Because he said, " you can." [comments] => 2 [counter] => 290 [topic] => 19 [informant] => saphire [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )

...... words fail me right now.... I'm absolutely speechless..... You took such an overplayed, underappreciated story and brought it to life with such passion and flair, it was just amazing..... Saphire, you did so well. And taking the story from 1st person point of view isn't all that easy, am I right? I mean, I've tried 1st person, and it's quite tough.... You did marvelous. Absolutely marvelous.

God bless,
Jellybellyprincess
