Like a perfect pane of glass
Frozen still in time

You scream and no one hears
The endless echoes speak
Chanting what you say

The mountains cast a looming shadow
No birds to break the silence
You're standing there in nowhere
As a painting on the wall

Now you're standing still in time
Head fills with ancient rhymes
Are you really alive
When dusk settles in
Quiescence will begin
Can you survive

There's no wind to whip the trees
But still they're stopped in motion
As a photograph

No life to fuel the fire
Nor a drum to march to
Like suspended animation
You're the only one who moves

Now you're standing still in time
Head fills with ancient rhymes
Are you really alive
When dusk settles in
Quiescence will begin
Can you survive

Perfect still the water stands
As the river Styx

People are like statues
In a marble gallery

Trapped in this lifeless world
As a fossil in amber
As a photograph
As a painting on the wall [comments] => 6 [counter] => 182 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Vitreous_Soul [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Wow, that is one heck of an imagery! Very well-written, as if you're telling a story...I'll definitely be reading this again and again.

Dear VS, your imaginary in this poem was spectacular! I was right with you and could see with my mind's eye all the things you described as they passed by!
I've done the same as you...just sit still and let those in the world pass you by...but a picture on the wall is even better....I do that alot. Good excercise for your imagination....the moreyou use it the better it gets!
very enjoyable poem
