Shadows, they creep up behind me
Make me see things that are really not there
Make me jumpy, feel frightened and nervous
Makes me shiver and tremble and stare
At the blackness that all but surrounds me
I look for some kind of light
But all that there is, is a nothingness
I'm alone in the dead of the night
I hear whispers and groaning and mumbling
Is there something or someone quite near
Then a howl and a cry from a distance
Oh I wish that my buddy was here
But there's no such thing as ghosts and ghoulies
It's all mumbo jumbo in their heads
I move quickly and quietly and bravely
There's no such thing as the living dead
But what's that I feel on my shoulder
Four fingers and a thumb it could be
When I scream and start kicking and shouting
My Mum says, 'You watch too much TV'!
